Im not going to lie, Ive been stretched recently. There has been a lot going on and a lot of big decisions looming. Yesterday I felt like I needed a big holiday. Time out to integrate and reflect on all that has happened. But today we headed off for the day to the dog beach and I honestly feel like I’ve had a holiday! Sometimes the little things can add up more than the big things to positively impact our wellbeing. For me, sun, sand, sea and dogs are a real medicine 🏝️ Thank Mother Nature 🙏�🩷🙏

15 years ago today this beautiful boy made me a mother. His birth was quite the initiation.
It was traumatic. I was in a drug induced haze as they handed him to me, just waking up from the anaesthesia. But as soon as I saw his face my mind became clear and I saw him and only him. I can still see that mesmerizing face, those hazy eyes looking up to me. It was deep, all encompassing love at first sight and I’ve loved him with all I am every day since. Deeply proud of the young man he is becoming. Happy birthday to my boy. Where has 15 years gone?!? 🩷 🎂🌸

While I’m here in my liminal phase, I’ve been taking the time to nurture my creative juices with new pursuits. I’ve always marveled at people who say they’re not sure what they’re in to or what their passions are, as I have opposite situation. So many interests that I struggle to know how to direct myself.
Now I’m enjoying myself in a beautiful ceramic studio, working on a clay piece that may be far too ambitious for my first project. But it’s fun and it’s taking shape. We’re all facing world issue stress. I personally have had a bellyful of personal stress these last couple of years with health, heartbreak and worries. But what I always return to is the beauty way. The way of creativity. Finding space to be in the moment, fire up your imagination and create. Life would be very dull without it. I’ll show you how this baby turns out in a couple of weeks!

So apparently after years of pared back minimalism the world, or at least the UK is embracing whimsy and maximalism. Finally this is my moment! Except I’m not ready to make the most of my moment. I simply adore bright colours, textiles, fabrics, personality and stories within interiors. Lately I’ve been buying old pieces on marketplace and giving them personality, like this old brown welsh dresser which I painted pink and wallpapered. It’s proved the perfect home for the vintage teacups and teapots I’ve been collecting. Yes I have been watching a lot of Bridgerton 😆 but something is brewing. Something incorporating my art, background in interior design and vintage furniture and ceramics. It is forming in my mind as my next offering. But first I have to decide where to offer it. Australia, UK or Portugal. What do you think? I’m genuinely interested in where you think I should write this next chapter of my story 🙏🩷🌸

How’s everyone doing out there? It feels like we’re collectively riding some pretty wild times. Im still sat here in my scared pause. It feels like a cocoon which im not yet ready to emerge from as a butterfly. Or sure of where I shall emerge or how. Sometimes we have to get comfortable with sitting in the unknown.
Life has a funny way of weaving its lessons and directing us on our journeys. People may not turn out to be who we thought they were. Places may become outgrown. We either fight the flow or surrender. This last year or so for me has been one surrender after another. I try to be like the mountain whose centre stays still even when the storm rages on the surface. It’s a practice and sometimes not so easy! Anyway, I just wanted to check in. Newness is coming. I just need to shed some more layers before it reveals itself. Sending love to you all as you navigate your journeys too. By the way this was the last photo taken at the gallery. Standing in front of the incredibly talented @carley_cornelissen mural. I miss seeing this beauty every day! 🩷🌸🩷

Today I closed the door for the last time on my gallery and here’s a few pieces that I couldn’t leave behind. Thanks to the supremely talented @kyleejoy_art @carley_cornelissen @serajwright @lady_diorama @shanteleianna and @binx_designs I will soon have a slice of the gallery in my home with my electric wall of wonderfullness. If I had a message for anyone right now it would be to please be a patron of the arts. We all@know we can get AI generated works for a steal from China. But nothing replaces the feel of a human hand, touch and intention. We have it in our hands to keep real art alive. Let’s all spend with intention and be part of the solution to keeping art alive 🎨🩷🌸

An honest update… so I spoke to a couple of friends whom I haven’t seen for a while the last few days and both commented how wonderful it was to see how well my life is going and how I’m thriving and it made me pause and reflect on the disparity between social media and reality. I’m always uncomfortable with not being authentic and so I thought it was time to share some news. Firstly I am now a single mum. Have been for some time already, but it didn’t feel the time for public declarations until now. This has been an obviously challenging time, but also one of growth and healing. It’s felt meaningful learning how to support myself and hold myself through changes and really quite empowering to find my strength. I started my gallery as part of my new life and with a genuine will to step in to my full creativity and also find a way to support myself snd my little tribe. Which leads me to my second bit of news that sadly the gallery will be closing next week. I stepped in to a leadership role and I created something truly beautiful and meaningful. I learnt about myself that I have a touch for curating beautiful spaces and that actually I can handle a spreadsheet or two 😆 but it’s come with challenges and proved itself non viable in its current form. If we could have survived on compliments and positive feedback alone we would have soared! But sadly like a beautiful flower whose bloom fades all too fast, our doors will be closing next week.
This has been challenging and confronting. But I also believe in a greater meaning and purpose and I continue to ask the universe, where do you want me, how can I Serve, what shall I offer. I know something is forming. But for now I’m taking a sacred pause as I meditate on my next steps in life. So that’s it for me. Quietly sitting in the unknown. Quietly meditating on where life may take me with trust and faith. If you’ve read this far, thanks for being here! And thanks for sharing my journey 🩷

✨ Something new wants to be born ✨

Lately I’ve felt a gentle pull toward a softer, more feminine direction in my painting.
Less whimsy, more quiet…
Less storybook, more feeling.

I’m still very much exploring — loosening my brush, finding new palettes, letting flowers and birds and softness lead the way. And I’m allowing myself to be a beginner again in this space.

There’s something tender about standing at the edge of a new creative chapter. Not fully formed. Not defined. Just emerging.

For now I’m simply enjoying the practice… and trusting what wants to come through 🌸

One of the best and hardest parts of being an #artgallery founder is being surrounded by inspiring art which is a delight while simultaneously a tad frustrating that I can’t just buy it all. I’ve designed a new home in my mind ten times over with what stunning pieces I shall grace the walls with. But this piece by @binx_designs got under my skin. There’s something just so sweet and innocent about it, I had to make it mine. Starting this gallery has been a huge learning curve and I already know SO much more than I did just a few mere months ago. Alas this iteration is a pop up so not destined for longevity. But im filled to the brim with inspiration for my next space and what will be birthed. I’ll share in time where that may be but safe to say times are a changing 🙏

It’s all gone. Inches of hair. You’ve probably heard we’re ending the cycle of the snake and up until February 16th we’re shedding. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s feeling this. I’ve shedded a lot this year. Its felt brutal at times, but also needed. Cycles that have outgrown their purpose. Circumstances that are ripe for change. As we near the end, the great crescendo, im feeling it more deeply. What needs to come forward. What needs to be left behind. Recently I’ve shed excess weight, weight that carried stories I no longer resonated with and then I suddenly felt my hair also carried energies that were ready to be left behind. So it’s all gone. Years of growth cut in seconds! Now I’m looking forward with fresh eyes at’s what to come next. It will all be shared in good time. But first the new seeds must be planted. What about you guys? Who else is shedding their old outgrown skin?

Funny how life brings you back to where your heart always wanted to be 💛

When I left school, my very first life plan was to train as an art teacher for children. Then life took me on a whole different journey — through travel, animals, painting, motherhood, building businesses and following creativity in all its wild forms.

And somehow… here I am.
Teaching kids art again.

Of all the things I get to do in my workspace, guiding little artists, watching their confidence grow, seeing their joy when they create something they’re proud of — it’s become the most rewarding part of it all.

It feels like coming home to a younger version of me who just wanted to paint with kids and make the world a little more colourful.

One of the little challenges of being a gallery owner — and dare I say it, a business woman 😆 — is that I don’t get nearly as much time to paint as I’d like.

So I decided to bring the painting into the gallery.

I rescued an old surfboard, and in those quiet moments between visitors, I slowly brought her back to life with colour, stories, and a whole lot of heart. And then I had the absolute joy of hanging her straight onto the gallery wall.

There’s something incredibly satisfying about creating new work right inside the space — and having a platform to share it with this beautiful community.

✨ Happy New Year ✨

I’ve been a little quiet on my personal page lately, simply because I’ve been pouring my heart and energy into building @byron_art_collective_

I’ve been so deeply touched by the response so far — so many people have said how inspiring, uplifting, and welcoming the space feels, and that means more than I can say. I love the details of it all… the deeply feminine art, the layers of colour, the quirky touches, the furniture I’ve upcycled in hot pink, and my collection of vintage tea ware that brings a sense of play and warmth into the space.

Today I did an interview and was asked why I chose to create a gallery exclusively for women. It really made me pause and reflect. Part of it is about exploring what happens when a space is shaped purely through a feminine lens — but it’s also deeply personal. As a mum of four, I know first-hand how easy it is for women, and especially mothers, to feel like we’ve missed the boat or been left behind when it comes to opportunity.

This space is my answer to that.
A place to offer support, visibility, and a stage — and to remind women that it is never too late to be seen, to create, or to begin again.

Wow! What a huge Labour of love this has been to launch. An idea in my back pocket for quite some time, until I constantly felt my late mums presence around me nudging me forward to it, sending me signs.
The minute I saw this space for lease I called and said I’d take It and then had to retroactively plan this whole thing! I had plenty ‘what am I doing’ moments, cushioned by a knowing that it was meant to be and all would be well.
In the space of a few short weeks I managed to find money to borrow for start up costs and 24 artists and artisans to fill this space with me. I have never actually worked so hard in my life.
But wow the results! Can’t quite believe I pulled it off! If you’re local to Byron, please do come say hi and see what l
created. It’s a special space. Ill soon be running workshops and serving tea and cakes. This is a community space as much as a gallery and I can’t wait to welcome you in to it 🩷 @byron_art_collective_

Today feels like a big day. It’s the day I got the keys for my very own art gallery! This has been an idea seeded in my mind for quite some time. It was one I thought not possible, until I suddenly saw this space and knew it was to be mine. Since then I’ve worked harder than I have in years. Up until late at night, organizing the multiple logistics that it’s taken to bring this dream to life. I’ve curated the most amazing group of female artists to display their art on these walls, alongside mine. I’ve been so bursting with ideas I can hardly sleep at night. And now it’s official. I’m a gallery owner! Now I have two weeks to bring this space to its full potential and fill it with beauty. My work has only just begun. ✨ From Treasure Hunter to Furniture Rescuer ✨

When I first started creating my shop for the Byron Art Collective, I went searching for fun, bold, maximalist furniture pieces that felt alive for the shop — the kind of statement pieces that make you smile the moment you walk in.

But I couldn’t find what I had in my imagination… so I decided to make it myself. 💫

What began as a hunt for unique pieces turned into me rescuing vintage furniture, giving it new colour, new life, and a whole new story. And honestly? I’ve fallen completely in love with the process.

My new studio partner! This little cutie was in the pound and a cold concrete pound is no place for such a tiny baby.
